This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.
Am I flawed at the core? Is this why I’m not achieving the success I want in business? I feel like something is deeply wrong with me, and this is causing me not to be successful.
Thanks for your question.
The belief that you’re flawed comes from what you were taught about yourself in childhood. It’s not true.
You are not flawed as a person. Nor is there anything wrong with you.
As children, most of us were taught things about ourselves that simply aren’t true and weren’t helpful. Our caregivers often manipulated us in order to get us to “behave,” so that they would feel more comfortable.
Unfortunately, these negative beliefs can follow us well into adulthood, causing us to doubt ourselves or quit on our dream.
The truth is, you were born to be a success.
Everything is nature was created to be successful, and we’re no different. You have a God-given purpose. And you have all the resources in you necessary to succeed.
However, your thoughts, words, actions, and habits may need to change in order for you to achieve the success you want in business (or any other area—health, fitness, relationships, etc). That’s often where the real issue lies.
Having a negative belief about yourself is a bad habit that you should break.
Success is created through the law of cause and effect. If you do certain things, in a certain way, over and over again—you’ll become successful.
In The Science of Getting Rich, Wallace Wattles writes: “Every day is either a successful day or a day of failure; and it is the successful days which get you what you want. If everyday is a failure, you can never get rich; while if every day is a success, you cannot fail to get rich” (p. 44).
Instead of seeing yourself as flawed, I would recommend you take an honest look at how you’re spending each day.
What are you thinking, saying, and doing each day?
What habits are you engaged in?
Are these habits congruent with the successful outcomes you want?
You can choose to create a new belief about yourself
and back it up with daily action.
That’s exactly what we do in my TEM90 program (The Elite Mind 90-Day Experience). For 90 days, we work on developing YOU into a person who is successful in whatever area you choose.
For example, let’s say you want to create a new belief about yourself: “I am capable of ______ (achieving the success I want).”
Fill in the blank with the outcome you want. Now, what would have to be true in order for that belief to be real?
The only thing getting in your way is your thoughts, words, actions, and habits (e.g., telling yourself you’re flawed). If you’re willing to change these things, you can achieve incredible success. If you’d like to get each these things dialed in, click here to learn more about TEM90!
