This week’s question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Calle.
Hi David,
Last weekend I attended a 4th of July party, and while I was there, several prominent business owners (who I look up to) arrived.
I immediately shut down and avoided any and all eye contact and conversation with these people.
It was CRAZY.
I literally saw myself get smaller, quieter and more invisible the longer I was there. Eventually I left without saying anything to anyone.
Do you have any suggestions that might help me from repeating this the next time this happens?
Hi Calle,
The key to recognize that your thoughts and actions are coming from a place of your core wound…
You “disappeared” because of a core wound that says you’re not good enough.
And that is a lie.
So, the next time you’re in a similar situation, I want you to pay VERY close attention to the voices in your head.
As soon as they start to tell you you’re not good enough, smart enough, successful enough, confident enough, etc… I want you to say “NEXT”, and immediately start thinking of all the things you LOVE about yourself.
And then walk right up to the person, extend your hand with a smile and introduce yourself.
Here’s the kicker… it’s not going to feel comfortable. It might even feel like the scariest thing you’ve ever done.
DO IT ANYWAY.
You need to be disciplined with this…do NOT let your emotions take control of your actions.
The more you step through this fear, the more confidence you’ll gain.
And on Tuesday, I’m hosting a fantastic free training on how to SILENCE the mental chatter going on in your mind…you might want to think about joining me.  CLICK HERE for the details.
