Why Do I Keep Experiencing Problems?

This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes from Dawn.

After talking with you last week, we manifested all the money! We got a new AC unit coming in. Opportunities are falling out of the sky now. More students are showing up out of nowhere, etc.

But lately, I’ve been wondering if we’re resisting something.  My car is back in the shop again. It seems like every time we have a win, another problem pops up.  You said this is a sign… but how do we know when we’re breaking through and moving through it—or if we’re resisting something?  Is resistance why we keep running into problems? Because we’re really starting to feel beaten up here.

I think the fact that you’re moving through it is the sign that you’re looking for. That’s the whole key—to move through the challenges.

Challenges don’t ever stop. They don’t.

But as long as you accept the direction that you’re going in, I think they’ll probably calm down.

Freud once said, “Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar.”

In other words, don’t attach meaning to things that may just be happening randomly in your life.

Sometimes I’ll have a bunch of things go wrong in a short period of time. And it has nothing to do with me resisting anything. That’s just the swing of the pendulum. There are two sides to everything.

Sometimes you’ll have one year where four or five things at the house break down. It’s just time for them to break down. So, you replace them and you move on.

Don’t get emotionally attached to it. Handle it as a ‘matter of fact.’

Tell yourself, “Here’s the responsible thing I have to do for this in my life”—and then move forward.

IS YOUR BUSINESS STUCK AT THE SAME INCOME LEVEL YEAR AFTER YEAR?

That number you keep returning to, no matter how hard you work, how many strategies you try, or how badly you want to break through, isn’t random.

It’s your Financial Set Point: the unconscious psychological threshold that determines how much income you allow yourself to earn, keep, and grow.
From June 15–29, Steph Tuss joins me for a brand-new 5-part series on The Successful Mind Podcast where we’re unpacking the psychological programming that’s controlling your income.

You’ll discover what a Financial Set Point is, how it was formed, the four Financial Set Point types — scarcity, survival, striving, and emerging success — and how each one shows up in your business as undercharging, boundary violations, and the way you respond to slow periods.
We also created a free diagnostic tool to help you identify your Financial Set Point and receive a personalized 7-day plan to begin rewiring it.
