This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes from Scott.
You keep talking about changing our self-image and our identity. But I don’t even know what my self-image is. Like, how do I identify what my current self-image is so I know what needs to change?
Your results tell you exactly what your self-image is. You don’t have to figure it out. Just look at your results.
If you’re making $50,000 a year, that’s your self-image. If you’re 30 pounds overweight, that’s your self-image. If you’re in dysfunctional relationships, that’s your self-image.
Your results are always a perfect reflection of your self-image. Always. No exceptions.
So stop trying to psychoanalyze yourself and figure out where your self-image came from or why you have it or what it means. Just look at your results.
Don’t like your results? Then you know exactly what self-image needs to change.
And here’s the beauty of this: you don’t have to understand your current self-image to change it. You just have to decide on a new one.
You don’t need to know why you see yourself as a $50,000-a-year person. You just need to decide you’re a $250,000-a-year person and start being that person.
You don’t need to trace your weight issues back to childhood trauma. You just need to decide you’re a healthy, fit person and start being that person.
Your results show you where you are. Your decision shows you where you’re going. That’s all you need to know.
Stop making it complicated. Look at your results, decide what you want them to be instead, and become the person who has those results.
