This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes from Robert:
In January, I became aware of a big mental block in my subconscious that I just wasn’t aware of, and once I was aware, I could remove it. It’s really helped me so far this year. Do you have any suggestions for how I can become aware of any major mental blocks I have that I’m not aware of right now?
Just look at whatever you’re resisting in your life. That’ll tell you exactly where you’ve got a block.
You’re looking for doubt, worry, or fear around anything you’re doing or should be doing. Putting something off. Holding a grievance against another person. Not making atonement. Any of those ideas will show you what you’re resisting.
And when you find it, what do you do? You just stop resisting it. You do it, or you do whatever is required in that moment. You let go and let God. You say you’re sorry, you ask for forgiveness, you spend the money, you pay the bill regardless of your fear, you tell the truth—whatever it is.
Every trouble that we have in our life is because we’re holding something we’re afraid of somewhere, and we’re keeping the good that we desire from coming into our life. That’s an absolute fact. When you come to terms with that and you open it—that’s what the 12 steps are based on.
God and the universe hold nothing from you. It was all given to you already. You’re the one that either opens the door or closes it. And here’s the part that gives me chills every time: when you’re aware of it, you’re closer to it than you’ve ever been before. It’s already there—it’s in the space around you already—but when you become aware of it, it’s ready to come in.
