This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes Vince.

I’m struggling with managing my dual practice areas as an attorney. I have both personal injury and immigration law, with immigration being added about four years ago. Since then, I’ve been really focused on growing the immigration side, and it’s become a solid part of our business.
But here’s my challenge: whenever I concentrate on one practice area, the other one suffers. I’ve been trying to find a personal injury attorney who fits our culture for what feels like forever, but haven’t found the right person. How can I grow both areas of my practice together instead of having this constant see-saw effect?
This is a perfect example of how our unconscious mind can create barriers to our growth. When we find ourselves “unable” to find the right person despite ongoing efforts, it usually points to an internal resistance rather than an external obstacle.
When we make a firm, complete decision, what we need comes into our life. If we’re split on it even slightly, it won’t show up right away.
You might be harboring concerns about letting go of control or worried that someone else won’t maintain your standards. These subtle fears can block what you’re trying to create. The key is to integrate these concerns and make a 100% solid decision.
Ask yourself: What part of you might be resistant to bringing in another attorney? What would it mean to truly let go? Once you identify and address these internal barriers, you’ll be amazed at how quickly the right person appears. Remember, your business can only grow to the extent that you’re willing to let go and trust others to help carry the load.
