This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes from Robert.
During a recent teaching of yours, you presented the idea of something that you called the “abundance waffle”, showing that everything is around you, not on a linear timeline. It really landed for me that there is no linear line. Everything is just floating around you waiting for you to make a decision, and then it starts coming towards you or going away from you based on your decision. Could you elaborate more on this? How is it all just hovering around us?
Let’s do an exercise. Point to your past (we’re gonna point behind us). Now, point to your future (we’re gonna point in front of us). That is exactly how our mind’s trained to work. But that’s not the truth.
The truth is that there is no past and there’s no future. That is a time imprint in our mind. It doesn’t exist in reality. Everything is happening at the same time all the time. You are moving through that idea of time.
We’re looking at time linearly, like a straight line – we’re over here trying to get ahead, moving ahead, moving ahead. We see the problems that happened to us back there as in the past. When the truth is, we’re somewhere in the abundance waffle and all of this stuff is around us at the exact same time, everywhere, all around us. That’s how the universe works.
When I choose, all of the collective dots on this waffle that are in harmony with my choice will all begin to start moving towards me instantaneously. That’s how the universe works. If I change the choice, then they will move away from me and I will start to attract the things that I don’t want.
When I think on a linear scale and I’m viewing my past as something that’s actually real and I’m harboring emotions – shame, guilt, anger, vindictiveness – I’m taking a snapshot that doesn’t exist to begin with. I’m focusing on it as if it’s now and I begin to move all the things that are in harmony with that into my life right now.
It’s kind of like when somebody gets a divorce and it’s a terrible divorce. They keep telling themselves the story about how their spouse was a jerk over and over again. Every time they do it, they create a new timestamp in their mind and they recreate the problem in there right now.
When we’re talking about business and money and all the things we want, if we start to think about the idea that we don’t have something, we’re pulling from our past. That’s not real. The new understanding is that it’s here right now.
The money is here, the people are here, everything is here. But you have to make a decision in your own life: I’m never going to make a decision based on lack of money again. The decision will be, if I want it, I want it, and now I will go get the money. But I will never say I’m not going to do this because I don’t have the money.
