This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes from Kristine:

I had a strong month in May, then June came in $5,000 below goal. Now I’ve doubled my goal and I’m trying to get to $30,000. But I’m in this situation where my money is in other people’s hands—accounts receivable I’m trying to collect, clients who partly paid or committed and haven’t followed through. My question is about all this up and down. I keep telling myself it’s there, but I need it to actually be in my hands. Is there an energy I’m not putting forward?

Yes. You’re split between what you need and where it is. You’re following your five senses, which say the money’s not in my hands, it’s in somebody else’s hands.
To switch that energy, you have to go not just from what you desire—you have to see yourself receiving it. You’ve got to block off the idea that it’s in somebody’s hands. This is mine. It’s coming to me every day. I am so absolutely grateful that people are paying me what I’m worth for the services I deliver.
You’ve got to change that conversation. You’ve got to say it over and over and over again. And when you say it, if you go back and look at what you don’t have, you cut off the energy that’s going out to the universe to attract it. So people go back and forth, back and forth, and it causes frustration, it causes confusion, it causes them to focus even more on what they don’t have, because they start to get anxious about it.
You’ve got to get rock solid in what you’re focusing on. If everything is right from a tactical perspective, you’re creating a wonderful path for people to come in and meet you with that desire you have.
So say: “I’m so happy and grateful now that clients are paying me exactly what I’m worth for the services that I deliver. It is here, it is now, it is coming every day.” Some version of that—with all the emotional intensity and the expectation that it’s going to happen.
And here’s the other thing: don’t take a client and write that person off in your mind as far as paying you goes, even if they’re having a hard time. Just send them love, and see them paying you, and watch how it changes things.
