Why Does it Feel Like Like Money is Hard to Make?

This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Why does it feel like money is so hard to make? I see other business owners talking on social media about all the millions they made so easily, while flashing their toys. Meanwhile, I’m struggling just paying my team and basic bills every month… let alone making enough money to have the lifestyle I want. Can you shed light on this?

Great question. Yes, I can.

So, here are 3 things to consider:

     1) Your words/language

     2) Your beliefs

     3) Your actions

First off, you have to train yourself to stop saying things like, “Money is hard.”

Every time you say that, it’s a command to your brain to make that statement more true. It’s like asking the universe to multiply that statement and give you more of it.

My mentor, Bob Proctor, used to tell me: “Stop saying that.” Any time I spoke of something negatively, he’d repeat that sentence.

Stop saying, “Money is hard to make.”

In his book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill wrote: ”The subconscious mind takes any orders given it in a spirit of absolute faith and acts upon those orders, although the orders often have to be presented over and over again, through repetition before they are interpreted by the subconscious mind” (p.72).

Every time you repeat the phrase, “Money is hard to make,” you’re hypnotizing your subconscious mind to take that as fact, and to make it real for you.

Business owners who are making millions aren’t doing that.

Instead, begin telling yourself, “Money is easy to make. I’m choosing to make this easy.”

Secondly, examine your beliefs around money.

Many of our beliefs around money aren’t even ours—they were handed down to us through our parents or caregivers.

Why do you believe money is hard to make? Where did you get that idea from?

How is that belief serving you?

What is it protecting you from?

Why are you holding onto this belief?

The way you view money is based on your perception
of it and the meaning you’ve given to it.

Again, most of these meanings were handed down to you by others.

Most of what you believe about money was taught to you before the age of seven.

If you want to change your belief, you must make a decision to create a new belief for yourself: that money is easy to make. (It really is just a decision.)

What would you need to believe—about yourself, the universe, and life in general—in order for this new belief to be true? Really think about this.

Third, look at your daily actions. What are you spending your time and energy on each day? Be honest.

Making money is based on the law of cause and effect. The only thing that causes money to show up in your bank account is a sale.

Are you doing something daily to bring in sales?

What activities do you need to stop doing, because they’re a waste of your time?

I’d also suggest you raise your standards. If you want to make a certain amount of money, you have to stop tolerating anything below your bottom line. Raise your standard of what your “bottom line” is, and never go below that.

If you want support with any of this, check out my TEM90 program (The Elite Mind 90-Day Experience). Over a period of 90 days, we work on changing your words, beliefs, and actions so that you achieve the outcome you want. We work on elevating YOU, so that you stop tolerating the things and circumstances you don’t want in your life.

Hundreds of business owners have created incredible things as a result of being in TEM90…including my client, , Dr. Wayne Pernell:

YOU’VE LEARNED THE STRATEGIES… SO WHY ARE YOUR RESULTS STILL STUCK?

You’re taking action. You’ve invested in programs, attended seminars. And yet you’re not breaking through. Good months are followed by setbacks, and the momentum you know is possible never quite sticks.

At this stage, plateau isn’t caused by lack of knowledge. It’s caused by hidden patterns—fear, resistance, outdated self-image—that quietly sabotage your decisions, your sales, and your leadership.

This May, I’m hosting a two-day intensive in Charlotte, NC where we’ll uncover the exact patterns capping your growth and strip away the fear keeping you stuck at your current ceiling.

And because business growth isn’t just about mindset, Steph Tuss is teaching a special marketing session on the latest business-building tactics that are working now. She’ll also answer your most pressing marketing questions.

If you’re ready to stop the breakthrough-and-setback cycle and create sustained momentum, this is where it starts.
