This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes Cynthia.
I’m wondering about the affirmation you often mention. I know you say something about everything going your way and God being good all the time. Can you share the exact wording? Also, how do you handle days when things clearly aren’t going well? Do you just acknowledge that it was a rough morning but now you’re moving forward, or do you approach it differently?
The affirmation I use regularly is: “It’s a great day, everything’s going my way, and God is good all the time, all the time.” I say this many times throughout each day.
When difficult situations arise – and they will because that’s part of life – I never say things like “It was a rough morning, but now I’m moving forward.” Instead, I consistently try to find the good in whatever is happening, even when it doesn’t feel good in the moment.
I’m human, so I’m not 100% perfect at maintaining this perspective. But I make a conscious effort to get back to “This is good” as quickly as possible. The key is to take things as they are rather than making them into something they’re not.
Yes, problems will occur. Things will go wrong. But even these challenges are good because if it’s a mistake, we’re learning a lesson. If it’s something we didn’t know, we’re learning so we can do something different to make it better next time.
This isn’t about denying reality or pretending everything is perfect. It’s about recognizing that within every challenge is an opportunity for growth, learning, or redirection. There is nothing that can happen that isn’t ultimately good in some way – we just might not see it immediately.
By maintaining this perspective, you’re not at the mercy of external circumstances. You’re choosing to focus on the good that exists in every situation, which keeps your energy high and your mindset productive regardless of what’s happening around you.
