This week’s question from our portal “Ask Us Anything” comes from Natalie.
After being a high performer in the corporate world for 20 years, I was recently laid off. (There truly is no such thing as “security.”) While at the job, I thought about starting my own business. But when deciding what business I should go into, I found myself spinning my wheels. I want to get into coaching, but everyone says it’s an oversaturated market. Any thoughts on that?
Also, what key mindset shifts should I adopt, in order to transition from the corporate world into entrepreneurship? And does your TEM program (The Elite Mind) address those?
Absolutely. I would start by asking:
What do you really want?
If coaching is what you feel like you’re here for, then I wouldn’t let the idea of the market being oversaturated stop you, because…
God’s not wrong about why you’re here.
If you have a desire to coach people, that’s God
(or the universe or “Spirit”) speaking through you.
Yes, the market may be oversaturated. However, I would follow that up by saying many coaches out there don’t know what they’re doing. They saw other people making lots of money coaching, and jumped on the bandwagon not really understanding what coaching is.
They were like, “Oh, I can tell people what to do and make lots of money.” But they don’t know their @ss from a hole in the ground. So, they’re not that good.
All that to say –There are many great coaches out there!
So, let’s look at the bigger picture. Our world is very messed up right now. So many people lack clarity and don’t have anyone to help them get their head on straight, so that we can all turn things around. It’s a damn mess. It’s no coincidence that many people have a desire to coach – the need is there.
With 8 billion people on the planet, my opinion is the coaching market isn’t saturated ENOUGH. There’s not enough good coaches who can help. No one person can help everybody. Whoever says it’s oversaturated is just creating an excuse to give up or keep someone else down.
If you want to be a coach, put everything you’ve got into it.
Ask yourself: “What do I want? If I had no limitations and I didn’t have to worry about what anybody thought, what would I choose for myself?”
You can be, do, and have whatever you want. If you want to coach people, commit to it. Put everything you have into it and don’t look back.
To answer your second question—yes, my program, The Elite Mind (TEM) teaches you the mindset of how to think and act like a successful business owner. During the first 90 days you’ll learn the fundamentals of how to be successful: critical thinking, how to keep your word, how to trust yourself, how to make a quantum leap, how to not buy into victimization. You’ll learn how to hold yourself accountable, so that you do the right things every day to move you in the direction of what you want.
Then, during the rest of the year, you’ll learn how to apply those fundamentals to the everyday tasks you need to do. You’ll learn about sales, marketing, team building, and all the external things you would need to grow a business. My business partner, Steph Tuss, facilitates the marketing trainings. Together we bring an extraordinary amount of experience in helping people from every business imaginable. We’ve never met a business owner we couldn’t help.
The weekly Q&A calls alone are worth the price of admission into the TEM program. You can ask us a question about any problem you need an answer to, so that you can make changes and adjustments on the fly in your business. We have people in every kind of business you can imagine—attorneys, doctors, property managers, copywriters, immigration specialists, an actress, caterer, you name it; they’re in there.
You’ll have an opportunity to be coached by two people (Steph Tuss and me) who’ve helped countless entrepreneurs get clear on what they want, and allow themselves to fully go after it. I’m one of the most successful coaches in the world, so I can give you firsthand experience from my 25 years of coaching as you start navigating your own coaching journey.
